What is the 2026 Factory Gulf Islands Cruise?
The 2026 Factory Gulf Islands Cruise is a multi-brand boating event hosted by Ranger Tugs. It brings together owners and prospective buyers for a long weekend of cruising, networking, and community engagement in the scenic Canadian Gulf Islands. Two identical cruises run simultaneously at Poets Cove and Port Sidney, allowing participants to choose their preferred location.
How do I choose between Poets Cove and Port Sidney?
Consider your home port and preferred departure point. The Poets Cove cruise works well for boaters in the San Juan Islands or southern Puget Sound region. The Port Sidney cruise is ideal for those based near Greater Victoria or Vancouver. Both locations offer the same activities, schedule, and factory presence — select whichever is more convenient for your boat.
Can I bring my family?
Yes. This is a family-friendly event designed for all boating enthusiasts. Children are welcome to participate in cruise activities and social events.
Is there a limit on boat capacity?
We welcome Ranger Tugs, Cutwater Boats, Solara Boats, and other cruising vessels. Both locations are sized to accommodate multiple boats. Early registration ensures your slip or mooring assignment.
What should I bring?
Bring your vessel fully provisioned for the weekend. Standard cruising supplies, safety equipment, and personal items are recommended. The hosted BBQ and some meals are provided; additional food and beverages can be obtained locally.
Are there lodging options?
Participants typically stay aboard their vessels. Local accommodations are available on South Pender Island and Sidney if needed — book early as Gulf Islands lodging fills quickly during summer months.
What if the weather is poor?
The event proceeds in normal boating conditions. Monitor forecasts before departure and be prepared to adjust your travel plans if severe weather is expected. Contact the event organizers for updates.
